    The Wolverine 2013

    ★★★ Watched 04 Aug, 2013

Metal shrimp can turn off Wolverine's healing factor, and the Viper was a pretty lame villain, but overall this was a pretty fun movie to watch. It's almost a full-on, legit ninja movie, and you can't go wrong watching Hugh Jackman play Wolverine. Solid.

Pointless slo-mo, noise for the sake of noise, hero becomes a hero by murdering random people for reasons that are never explained beyond "eh, you're supposed to." Some clever stunt work is about all this movie has going for it.

    Theater (3D)

Every part of Pacific Rim that involves gigantic robots punching gigantic monsters is completely amazing. Seriously. Amazing. Like watery-eyes awe amazing. The rest of the parts not so much, to be honest. But you have to see this in theaters for the fight scenes. It's basically the same thing as the end of "Man of Steel," but it is so, so, so much better. I would definitely see it in theaters a second time.

    Rewatching, just because.

I'm not going to lie, the only reason I rented this movie is because Ashley Greene is on the box art.

What a waste of a pretty good cast. There are maybe two genuine creep-out moments, but it almost feels like this movie's budget must have been blown paying for Greene and Tom Felton (out of a total listed cast of eight in the final credits).

The closing credits are pretty good, though; if you make it through the movie, they are visually interesting and fun to watch.

One of my favorite spooky movies. It's just fun and creepy; the entire thing is made by the noise the ghost makes.

    DVD rental

Kids have been on me to rent this again for them for awhile; this is one of my favorite animated kid movies. The characters are great and the world-building in the future is just fun. Need to just break down and get the BluRay from somewhere.
