Horror Movie Watchlist/Marathon (Recommendations are Welcome)
Lately, on-and-off, I have been in a major horror movie mood. So, just for the hell of it, I decided to make a list of 30 horror films that I want to watch. The list mixes classics, modern genre pieces, obscure gems, and there are also a number of re-watches on there for me. Tell me what you think and be looking out for my reviews on each of them. If you can think of any better ones than feel free to recommend me some, I am always flexible.
Maybe add some more French stuff, you have Martyrs which is great, maybe Frontiers or Inside. Plus one of the first three "... of the Dead" films for nostalgia.
I'd add:
Diabolique, Repulsion, Audition and Angst
Horn - I've seen Frontier(s), didn't impress me. And I have seen the first three Dead films, maybe I'll add Night of the Living Dead since it has been a while since I've seen that.
Dirk - I've seen all four of those, haha. But it has been a while since I have seen Diabolique or Audition.
Great list, needs Psycho!
Matt - I have already seen Psycho multiple times, the quintessential horror classic.
Drop The Woman (you don't want to inflict that tosh on yourself) and add Bride of Frankenstein or any other Universal Monsters movie. Need a classic!
Ditch Wake Wood (it's rubbish) and add something good like The House with Laughing Windows.
Agree with the previous two: The Woman and Wake Wood are terrible (and both Bride of Frankenstein and House with Laughing Windows rock!) . Here's a random mix of personal favourites.....
Onibaba, Left Bank, Amer, Anguish, Who Can Kill a Child, Don't Torture a Duckling...
Dont waste your time with The Girl Next Door. Its a nasty piece of cinema, unecessary and vile. I wouldn't class it as a horror either.
It may be torture porn but Saw is a good addition as well.
The Woman is excellent (as you know, since I recommended it to you). I also liked Wake Wood, a shame that you took it off here. It's not an essential watch but it's still a pretty good Wicker Man esque horror flick. Anyways, some of the comments on here are pretty damn hilarious.
