Mea Maxima Culpa: Silence in the House of God 2012
With subject matter like this it's really hard to look at the film objectively. Certainly I believe the story being told to me, but that's partially because I want to believe it.

The Great Gatsby 2013
I'll keep it short:
You'll either love it or hate it. If you love Baz Luhrman, you'll probably love it. If you love the book, you'll probably hate it. If you can get past the anachronistic soundtrack (didn't bother me one bit) and understand that you're in for a hyper stylized thrill ride (even if that's not what the book was) you'll really enjoy it.
Excellent performances all around. Stunning visuals. Hauntingly beautiful score.
But sweet Jesus, was it really necessary to say "Old sport" 58 times?
Also, can we finally give DiCaprio an Oscar?
