The first time I saw this film I spent almost the entirety of it trying to figure out just what the hell was going on. I got to the end and was like: 'Right, that was mind-blowing. I need to watch that again.' I did. It was even more outstanding the second time.
There's just something about the shouldn't-work-but-it-totally-does flow to the film. The mix of vibrancy and dark aspects. The out of type but perfectly cast actors.
Plain and simple: It just works.
