Night Terrors 1995
In the mid-1990s I used to see the cover of this VHS often at my local haunt. Looking at the cover you have to admit, it is quite intriguing, especially to my early teen perspective.
I was quite interested in the very beginning, seeing Robert Englund in a powdered wig, portraying Marquis de Sade, there is something extra endearing about low-budget period piece horror films, I think. I was even more interested after seeing William Finley's name in the opening…

Dracula 3D 2012
Oh how the mighty have fallen.
I am honestly not even sure where I should begin? It was almost as if Dario Argento decided to "write" a "script" based off of his memories of Coppola's Dracula from when he watched it 20 years ago. Of course, in adding a nice spin onto it we are given a fantastic scene with a giant praying mantis!
The wigs were so cheap, they looked like something you could pick up at your local…

The Informers 2008
I am not sure what Bret Easton Ellis was trying to create in this 2008 film adaptation of his short stories. But, I have a hunch. He is trying to relive his success with adaptations involving the excessive 1980s (Less Than Zero, American Psycho) and wholly unlikable characters (Rules of Attraction) but it simply does. not. work. here. The Informers adaptation comes off as recycled, misplaced nostalgia at the hands of washed-up desperation trying to ring out his creative rag…

The Hell's Gate 1989
This was a pretty terrible Umberto Lenzi film. I am finding it interesting that the cover for this says it's Presented by Lucio Fulci because he is not listed as a producer and The Hell's Gate is not one of the 6 films released with "Lucio Fulci Presents" (some of which he fought to have his name removed). Maybe it was just a cheap ploy to get someone to buy this with both the names of Fulci and Lenzi and…

Retribution 1987
I Loved this film, great effects, original storyline with some gruesome and diverse kills. A hidden gem well worth seeking out.

Mr. Baseball 1992
It's a heartwarming tale of a cocky baseball player learning how to become a team player. So original.

Stake Land 2010
It's a lot like Zombieland, with vampires and lacking the charming lead actors. While normally I can't stand Danielle Harris she was tolerable in this as she had maybe 3 lines in the entire film.
C-Grade actors in a film that took itself way too seriously. The brash attempts at having "substance" lurking below was not executed well, it just came off as childish and ill-informed.
I was expecting more but I am questioning what made me do so in…

Star Trek: Nemesis 2002
A film out of time, who's critical and box office failure signified the death of "classic" Star Trek forever. But god damn, for all it's flaws do I love classic trek, and despite many reports you may have heard to the contrary: Nemesis is a good movie.

Robot Ninja 1989
Uh-huh. That's right. Comic book creator becomes a (terrible) super-hero after trying to stop some serial-rapists. He fails repeatedly, indirectly leads to the death of a ton of people, and is painted as a villain by the local media. Also, Burt Ward, Linnea Quigley and Scott Spiegel show up. Will be talking about it at length on this week's No-Budget Nightmares podcast.
