I agree completely, it is a shame that animated films just become ignored in these polls, as understandable as it may be. I think if there were to be an animated film with any votes at all it would be Snow White for its significance, and only that.
What's the significance of The Color of Pomegranates, or Touki Bouki? How did they impact film more than Snow White or Toy Story?
I don't know. You know this is a poll right? Nobody sat down and decided to ignore your favorite cartoons, its just that a large majority of critics and filmmakers don't see it as one of their favorites or most important.
Toy Story received four votes. (By way of comparison, Wall-E netted eight votes this time around.)
Shocked!
List now expanded to the top 250.
Kind of surprised Gone With The Wind is ranked that low. I wonder why...
TROPICAL MALADY at 130!!! I think after #50 or so the younger voters really start showing their influence.
Holy shit this list is glorious! Much better than TSPDT imo. Only 124 to go... :/
By the way great work keeping it updated, Alex. Any idea on when more of the director's poll is being announced?
Thanks! I believe more results from the directors' poll will be made available mid-next week; I'll update the results then.
