  • Spider-Man 2 2004

    ★★★½ Rewatched 04 May, 2013

Rewatching this, I see this less favorably. The characters are overall rather flat. Harry is just a “I Hate Spider-Man because of what he did to my dad so I’m going to be angry toward you, Peter” from beginning to end without demonstrating anything else. Mary Jane Watson is just “It’s too late, Peter, but I still love you” and nothing else. Alfred Molina isn’t as bad but his extreme turn from a genius to a psychotic genius is not…

  • Ocean's Thirteen 2007

    ★★★½ Watched 04 May, 2013

Soderbergh’s second sequel to Ocean’s Eleven. This isn’t as good as the first film; however, this does very well. Pacino works well as the greatly despicable antagonist, who has wronged one of the gang. For revenge, the gang will ruin the opening of Pacino’s new casino. The actual plan is kind of messy and lazily thought-out. To create an earthquake-like shaking is just a bit out of my credibility range. What made this good, just as in the first film, was the interactions of all the characters and how they pulled it off.

  • The Double Life of Veronique 1991

    ★★★★★ Watched 23 Mar, 2013

A rather difficult movie to describe without making it sound boring. This is not a movie about things happening but rather about what the title states. Irene Jacob, who is simply perfect in this film, plays the two woman. Although they have never meet or seen each other except for a single minute where the Polish Weronika sees French Veronique board a bus, the two woman are interconnected. This is seen through their music and their relationship with their lovers…

  • Detropia 2012

    ★★★ Watched 01 May, 2013

Detroit is decaying. The big companies are going or gone. The poor folks are getting angry and restless. The city cannot help because it is broke. The people are fleeing when they can. Foreign companies are undermining the American progress, which will just worsen conditions in the States. The homes and the infrastructure are in ruins. Hipsters and younger generation, who don't depend at all on the blue collar jobs, are moving in because it is dirt cheap. And so…
