Leaving Las Vegas 1995

Leighton Trent’s review:
Both leads are extremely good, and while the film is beautifully nihilistic and pretty much pointless, it still holds its own kind of brilliant awe. It's easy to see why Cage won the Oscar here, but why does he do this kind of work sparingly? Though extremely depressing, you certainly can appreciate all the work involved here.
