The captains of a US destroyer and a U-boat, troll each other in a war that neither one of them seem to want. Pretty good depiction of the germans for a Hollywood film, though the realism of the U-boat would later be smashed by Das Boot. The film is worth a watch for the thick tension between the captains/crew, and the impressive final confrontation.
