This is a gentle but evocative tale of a group rather differing women who happen to all work in the same beauty parlour. It is rather reminiscent of an Almodóvar piece, although perhaps milder, sweeter and with less deviance. Warm and engaging, this is a 'feel good' film that isn't patronising or trite - simply a lovely and engaging representation of female identity in Beirut.
