Playing this deeply sill premise as a straight-faced historical biopic was a master-stroke, it only makes the bursts of over the top insanity all the more entertaining. I simply cannot slate a movie that features a vampire throwing a horse like a hammer-toss. This movie should not exist, not as a product of the studio system, and that only makes it more remarkable. A truly fascinating oddity.
