Andrew Shaw’s review:
The human element may be lacking but Rise of the Planet of the Apes compensates by having Caesar be one of the most compelling and well written characters of 2011. His journey from innocent ape to revolutionary leader is told so well you could be forgiven for thinking this was a biopic of a real life figure. Andy Serkis' performance, with Weta's exceptional assistance, have created the next level of performance capture as an artform. A great movie, worthy of the legacy left by the previous films.
