Expectations were through the roof for this film and it mostly delivers. Henry Cavill is a terrific Superman and it really is an epic film, with fantastic visuals and some breathtaking action. In fact, nearly the whole second half of the film is action set piece after set piece. Short, violent and to the point, Dredd doesn't mess around. Films like this aren't made much anymore. It's basically a throwback to the action films of the eighties and that makes for a hell of an action packed ride. If you're looking for a brilliant drama then you're not gonna get it here but that is the great thing about it. It doesn't try to be anything that it isn't and it doesn't try and please everyone.
