Ben Hart’s review:
Charming and big hearted film that is far less slight than I imagined from the rather fey trailer.
There's a wonderful kinetic energy to Doret's performance as the eponymous cycling kid that keeps you transfixed - whether he's sprinting around, climbing over walls or through windows or just pedalling away he barely sits still. There's a fragile innocence to him, an optimism and heart that only a child can have despite his troubled nature (he is certainly a handful), and his search and rejection from his cowardly father is touching.
There's little I can find to fault with it, recommended.
I thought the ending was a bit of an anti-climax, personally. Still, pretty good movie, glad you enjoyed it.
