Arnold Furious’s review published on Letterboxd :
Time After Time has a terrific set up. The ideas at play are quite cunning. HG Wells chasing the Jack the Ripper into modern day San Francisco must have really come to life when it was written in the script. The first half an hour in Victorian London is exceptional but as soon as the film is transplanted into modern times the ideas are less vibrant. HG Wells visits McDonalds etc. The usual fish-out-water things that are done in every movie of this type. They're not in line with the overall cleverness of the concept. I also found the resolution to be less than satisfying.
One question though; just how many times was Mary Steenburgen taken in by a time-travelling older man?
