Vertigo 1958 ★★★★★

Hitchcock is one of the best and it's hard to see if anyone can top such a career - ignoring The Birds, of course. Vertigo is another hit to him and recently topped the poll for Sight & Sound's 50 greatest films, replacing Citizen Kane. In my opinion, Vertigo is a brilliant film but he has two other films which top it: Rope and Rear Window, respectively. That said, the story in this is phenomenal with the twists and turns it creates and James Stewart puts in another great performance. It's hard to choose a favourite and this only complicates things further. He's the master of suspense for a reason.
