Joseph: King of Dreams 2000 ★★★½

Rewatched Jun 03, 2012

I am very fond of the biblical story of Joseph, and one of the songs from this movie has impacted me greatly, so it was good to rewatch this film from my childhood. Sadly, it's not as emotional as I remember. There are some good plot points, and overall it's very biblically accurate, but it feels a bit rushed and shallow. I think that is a result of the weak art. It is not nearly as polished and vivid as Prince of Egypt. Only one of the songs is truly memorable, the dialog is more forced, and the animation is less smooth. It's enjoyable, but not as brilliant as Prince of Egypt. Content wise, there is some immodesty, but other than that it's clean and clear.
