Chris Francis’s review published on Letterboxd:
War of the Arrows is the sort of flick that makes me remember why I love movies with archery or sniper duels or anything like that.
Because precision shooting executed well on film is so satisfying.
And War of the Arrows is full of satisfaction.
It's basically one long chase scene that goes back and forth between who's doing the chasing, interspersed with some freaking awesome archery.
You get different types of arrows, bows, tracking and stalking prey. Hunter. Hunted. You get it.
Oh yeah, and a very horrid CGI tiger at one point. It sorta ruins the awesome, and docks half a star from the rating, because what the fuck.
Especially when it's supposed to be a pay-off. A tiger ex machina.
But still. Bow and arrow stand offs. Archery sniping. Curling arrows. Shots that freaking destroy trees and people.
A surprising Korean hit, for me. Definitely recommend it if you want a break from fist fights, car chases, and gunfights.
Get some fucking arrows in you.
