Ronan Doyle’s review published on Letterboxd:
Bleurgh. It constantly feels like a moving drama of one man's struggle to deal with terrible circumstances, but you need only think about it for a second to realise that there's very little going on here. The dramatic elements weakly pander, the comedic aspects falter entirely, and there's nothing in either the script or the direction to make up for this flaccidity. Clooney does a fine job, but he's far from the career-defining greatness many have claimed. There's nothing directly bad to critique (well, Woodley's character's boyfriend was unbearable), but nor is there anything much worth touting.
