Hesher 2010 ★★★★½

Watched Jun 16, 2012

Joseph Gordon Levitt continues in his quest to become my favourite actor with another standout performance. Rainn Wilson pretty much lives his character, and Piper Laurie adds another top-notch performance to her already impressive body of work. All in all, it's a masterclass in performance, even Portman decides to bring her A-game after coasting through some recent stuff.

Whilst the film has a cracking streak of anarchism running through it that brings it to life, it occasionally feels like a series of vignettes rather than a flowing narrative, which stops it being top marks for me.

Extra half star for Hesher shredding "Welcome Home Sanitarium" in the garage though.
