Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it, but I don't think the 'found footage' conceit added anything. (That's not to day it detracted from my enjoyment.)
I felt it all too convenient that one of the first things he learned to do was have a camera floating behind him at all times. And then having to incorporate another character who filmed everything just so we could have scenes without the main protagonist.
The climax reminded me of Tetsuo's issues in Akira. All in all, excellent entertainment and a refreshing take on the superhero concept.

Loved this in the '90s but it really doesn't stand up now. Most performances are mediocre on reflection. It was a blistering debut from Singleton, but on reflection it's easy to see why he never became a go-to director or producer.
