Matthew Zurcher’s review:
Surprised the hell out of me by totally working. Tatum is becoming an actor of substance and Hill has successfully flexed his writing muscles. The film's best qualities lie in clever observations on high school volatility, dramatic subversion, and (most importantly) re-imagining the once-thriving buddy cop genre. The movie made me laugh a lot. A very pleasant surprise.
Only two and a half stars? You're review hints at more than that?
@DriveFiction19: It scored between a 50 and 58ish in my books. Score of 50 being a perfectly decent, enjoyable movie with obvious problems. Grade inflation is something we should keep in the schools.
