Brian Gyss’s review:
Death Machine gets an additional star for having a somewhat interesting plot - otherwise, it's a largely unremarkable film. Craft-wise, it feels a lot rawer than other similarly budgeted movies made around the same time period. It almost feels like a DTV movie from 1987 that was transported forward in time 7 years.
Also, I think Brad Dourif pretty much solidified his standing as the "low end guy who will do anything for money" in this film - Sir Ben Kingsley pretty much rules the high end.
Love this movie. So bad, it's damn near a masterpiece. You can't reproduce it. Its shittiness is almost transcendent.
@Ryan I kinda went into it wanting to like it, because I really enjoyed blade and believed that Norrington has *some* talent.
However, if I was a studio executive and saw this, I probably would have never hired him to do Blade in the first place, lol.
Yeah, I doubt I'd hire him to cook my hotdogs.
@Ryan he's probably qualified to boil the water.
