Tarantino's unwillingness to follow any of the rules of conventional cinema leads to experiences I love. Inglourious Basterds is no exception. From the Stiglitz logo smash to using David Bowie's Cat People (really?) to the realization the film exists in its own version of history, so many small details and performances add up to an experience that feels different from his other films but also feels right at home in his catalog.
