This little film is an intriguing male version of The Bad Seed. Joshua is precocious, precise, mannered, precious even, But watch out he has certain ideas about right and wrong. And no qualms about playing one parent against the other. And planting incriminating evidence. He's a little creep alright. The parental units are played by the very talented twosome:Vera Farmiga and Sam Rockwell. Both are excellent. Farmiga in fact has a similar role in the other even better Bad Seed-like chiller The Orphan from 2009.
