Ivan's Childhood 1962 ★★★½

+ Great dream sequences, always a highlight of Tarkovsky films
+ Cinematography that you will remember (the forest of birchwood trees, the flares falling into the reflection of the marshes)
+ I heard this was the most accessible Tarkovsky film and I agree since it's his shortest and didn't slow down that much
+ I liked the dialogue and individual moments
+ War scenes were shot without many extras in an abstract way
- The Russian soldiers in the swamps reminded me of how I enjoyed "The Cranes are Flying" more
- The story and characters didn't interest me at all
