Brian Salisbury’s review:
Joe Carnahan crafts a considerably different action film with his survivalist allegory The Grey. Exceedingly well-made, and the drama is top-notch, but I still don't quite know how I feel about it. The hype I heard coming out of early screenings painted a picture of a very different film from the one I actually saw; necessitating a second viewing before an objective opinion can be formed. With many of our regular group having seen the film at BNAT, and still others out of town for Sundance, the Midnight Society was rather depleted this time around. We soldiered on anyhow.
