  • Fresh Guacamole 2012

My pick to win the Oscar for Best Animated Short. Less than two minutes long (the shortest film ever nominated in any category), which probably works against it, but every second is pure fun. You'll want to watch it over and over to catch all the visual puns you didn't notice the first time.

  • Left Behind: Tribulation Force 2002

Remember that episode of The Simpsons where Flanders opens a Bible-themed amusement park, and the kids go on a rollercoaster thinking they're in for a fun if forgettable thrillride, only to be stopped dead by an animatronic King David, who reads them the entire Book of Psalms as the children sigh in defeat? That's EXACTLY what watching this movie is like.

  • God Bless America 2012

    ★★½ Watched 08 Nov, 2012

"God Bless America" plays like a mish-mash of "Office Space," "Idiocracy" and "Natural Born Killers." Bobcat Goldthwaite fills his script with ridiculous strawmen of everything from spoiled teenagers to tea party protesters to make it more palatable when they're gunned down by our protagonists, but it has the unintended side-effect of making the film feel hollow. Goldthwaite obviously put a lot of passion into this project, but it's hard to sympathize with the heroes when they inhabit a world that bares only the smallest resemblence to reality.

  • Manos: The Hands of Fate 1966

    ½ Added

Somewhat of a rite of passage for trash cinema aficionados, Manos: The Hands of Fate has a reputation for being one of the most unpleasant viewing experiences there is. From the long shots where literally nothing happens, to the blurry picture and nearly inaudible dialogue, to the bizarre acting (especially by "Torgo"), Manos should only ever be watched under the influence of something strong, with the MST3K guys roasting the hell out of it.
