Brian Rubinow’s review:
Mesmerizing, spellbinding and quite possibly life-changing. Kubrick's epic masterpiece has the distinction of taking the science-fiction genre beyond rubber suits and paper plate UFOs and turning it into a genuine art form. The groundbreaking special effects shots, like an astronaut jogging 360 degrees around a circular room, hold up to this day, and HAL-9000 remains one of the most fascinating artificial intelligences in cinema.
