Brian Rubinow’s review published on Letterboxd :
A stoner comedy/Raymond Chandler mystery as re-interpreted by the Coen brothers. Endlessly quotable and re-watchable. Bears the Coen trademark of being funny without trying to be funny. Instead, the laughs arise organically out of the situation and how the characters play off each other. And what characters they are. Jeff "The Dude" Lebowski and Walter Sobchak make an excellent comic duo, though "The Jesus," Maude, Brandt, and Donnie are all fan favorites as well. Destined to go down as a cult classic, The Big Lebowski stands out from the Coen brothers oeuvre to become an entity unto itself.
