I cannot believe John Landis sired this piece of trash. How ironic that this green screen miscreant includes a George Lucas cameo. Has none of the humor, fun, charm or grit of the BHC movies. The dialogue is as awful as the never-ending generic soundtrack of the park the film is stuck in. It just doesn't look like a cop movie, too clean, too predictable, the cinematographer really crapped in the petunias on this one.
I've seen this flick so many times. Probably the best Michael Bay movie ever, he's too aggressive and spastic with the camera shots/angles/cuts now. Although Pain & Gain was great.
The Rock also has a ton of great lines. "Do you like haircut?!" "Welcome to The Rock." "Gosh, kind of a lots happened since (7 seconds ago)"
This was fun, reminded me of an even more senseless "Brazil". There's so many layers, and usually I'd write it off as overly pretentious, but it's just like a big sandbox. It goes all over the place, completely shameless in it's performances. The drum soundtrack is perfect for the free-flowing, messed-up jazz feel of the picture. Keaton completely takes this, it's so good to see him be amazing in something I really enjoyed and appreciated.
