I grew up loving zombie movies. Zombies, unfortunately, have become too fashionable, and the genre flooded with too many releases that take themselves seriously in a way that just doesn't work for me. Same thing happened with Vampires, but that is less of a loss for me.

Anyway, I have to turn to more fringe entertainment with the elements I could once find in zombie films. Overacting. Melodrama. Action. Monsters, sometimes. Helmets, long voyages in longboats, pillaging ... And Vikings! So ...

  • How to Train Your Dragon
  • Beowulf & Grendel
  • Thor
  • Beowulf
  • The 13th Warrior
  • The Saga of the Viking Women and Their Voyage to the Waters of the Great Sea Serpent
  • Valhalla Rising
  • Outlander
  • Pathfinder
  • Beowulf
  • Erik the Viking

  • MANY THANKS for compiling this Viking list! I was searching for my favorite Viking film from 1967, filmed in Iceland & directed by the famed Gabriel Axel (not found here on letterboxd, sadly) & came across this imdb list of 54 excellent titles by Eliza Gaskell! (My choice came in ranked @ #14 on Eliza's list!) See:
