Few can deny that the 1980s where a transformational and galvanising decade for horror films. Though many classics and first instalments of legendary franchises hit theatres during the last few years of the 1970s, the 80s pulled horror into the mainstream and into the minds of the rebellious youth in overwhelming waves at the box office.
