Takashi Miike has left a sweltering brand on the world of film. With a career peaking in the midst of a workaholic haze of genre and mind-bending show pieces, Miike has injected himself into the zeitgeist of filmic storytelling like a relentless virus, spreading through the four corners of independent and mainstream films. Filmmakers from all backgrounds champion his films and though he is inconsistent, sometimes vague and always controversial, he stands as one of the world's most prolific and influential filmmakers.
It goes without saying that I haven't seen ALL of Miike's vast portfolio, so consider this list an eternal work in progress. And please, feel free to make suggestions.
