A mighty dry science fiction movie about the race between the South Hemis (Soviets) and the North Hemis (US) to reach Mars first. It's pretty typical 1950's scifi movie, full of bad science, bad special effects and exposition. The monsters that Francis Ford Coppola added when 'Americanizing' the movie don't help much at all, though given the appearance of one of them, it was perhaps appropriate I logged this movie after watching Teeth.
