This movie had an interesting premise that was pulled off decently, but I found it rather jarring that the animation was interspliced with documentary comments from real life Soviet/German veterans and experts to set up certain scenes. It seems rather unnecessary for a piece that is obviously nonsensical in nature. I would have rather the documentary type footage been included as an extra on the blu-ray as a separate companion piece.
