Killers of the Flower Moon 2023
I put off watching this one because A) the book really affected me and B) I needed to watch movies about Mars this month.
I had heard a lot of complaints leading up to this one.
- Cost too much money (who cares?)
- Too long (who cares?)
- Lily Gladstone's not in it a lot (not true)
- Jai Courtney's not in it (unconfirmed)The one complaint I heard that does resonate (other than Jai Courtney's probably not in…

Red Planet 2000
I'm watching Mars movies for MARSch (TM Nick Nunziata). That's just the way it is. And going forward, forever shall it be.
This is a legendarily ho-hum movie. And it's a weird one.
Got:
- Carrie-Anne Moss fresh from the THE MATRIX's giant success.
- Kilmer and Sizemore clashing behind the scenes.
- Terrance Stamp stopping by to suit up and quick-die.
- Early Simon Baker. (THE MENTALIST in this!)
- Sorta early Benny Bratt.
- A killer robot (of…

Green Room 2015
"I am Odin himself."
Absolutely great. Feels like such a breath of fresh air somehow. Terrifying, funny, gross (iconic arm damage). What more could you ask for? Plus, Sir Patrick shows up in a non-space role.
Def wish Jeremy Saulnier worked more.
Perfectly cast. Imogen Poots has a great character and plays it perfectly. And Yelchin gives such a fantastic performance.
Paintball fans, REJOICE!
Along with everything else, I love the dialogue in this movie.

Breakdown 1997
The late great JT Walsh oozes evil as a kidnapper/killer posing as a nice guy trucker that comes to the aid of a stranded Kurt Russell and Kathleen Quinlan. (Worth watching for a denim-clad JT alone!)
JT and crew try to get money from a frantic and confused Russell as he bounces around New Mexico trying to find his wife.
Slick explotation film. Russell plays a sometimes bumbling, klutzy hero, "accidenting" his way into heroics.
Great cast includes MC Gainey and Rex Linn.
