How can a movie feel so empty at three and a half hours? The story is never well told, you never feel anything for any of the characters, especially Kris Kristfferson's, the final act is a mess in almost all the senses.
It's a shame that the director that made one of my favourite movies of all time, The Deer Hunter, wrecked his career in an epic that never really manages to envolve you in neither the story or the characters.
Kingdom of Heaven is a movie that pains me because since its release in 2005 it has been almost completely forgotten. That's because in its cinematic version K.H. is a mess, it's a beautiful film (like all of Scott's films) but the storytelling is terrible, you never care about any character and of course Orlando Bloom tough not being terrible is very badly cast.

I'm a huge fan of the two other REC movies and I thought they were a great example of the "found footage" horror movies but unfortunately this one is a great disappointment.
First the hand-held camera perspective is abandoned half-way through the film and second what imagination and inventiveness the other two had (specially in the infected origin) is lost and this one turns into a simple gore-fest with a terrible ending that's the final nail in the coffin.
