Death Before Dishonor 1987
Rewatched May 23, 2012
Carl Timms’s review:
Remember loving this film as a kid, not seen in 20 years. Its not aged brilliantly due to a few budget constraints and some poor acting in places (and the heavy handed music, dear lord...) but still entertaining enough for 90min.
Features a lot of themes that are also oddly relevant for such an old film, although much more innocent in their pre-911 light: US middle eastern intervention jingoism, embassy bombings, rebel uprisings etc
Truth be told its worth it just for the torture/drill scene alone but if you are a fan of 80s desert action movies you can do a lot worse than this, which I think was probably quite overlooked back in the day.
