An often overlooked Francis Ford Coppola gem that would have been a shoo-in for the 1974 Oscar had it not been for that other Francis Ford Coppola gem of the same year. One of Hackman's finest performances ever, and a nice early appearance from Harrison Ford.

After a strong start, Election rather disappointingly turns into a staid and overdrawn chase movie. Somewhat redeemed by the satisfyingly in your face ending.
