The first fifteen to twenty minutes of this movie are nigh unwatchable, but the rest of it is thankfully enjoyable and entertaining.

The Avengers 2012
The Avengers is the kind of movie that is made for people who like movies. It has drama, comedy, action, suspense, and spectacle. It has good characterization, good visuals, good effects, and good dialogue. And at two hours and twenty minutes, it never once feels like it is too slow or it has gone on for too long; the pacing is fantastically perfect.
This ensemble cast is treated as if each one of them is the lead at all points…

Hot Fuzz 2007
Hot Fuzz may be the single greatest movie of all time due to its expert structure, tight screenplay, and its simultaneous deconstruction/reconstruction of beloved action movie tropes. There is no word of dialogue that doesn't end up being important. "I kind of like it here," indeed. It's a marvelously crafted movie that demands multiple viewings to be appreciated.
