Travis Lytle’s review:
At cursory glance, "Never Let Me Go" unfolds like a dour, wet blanket of a science fiction film with a narrative free of tangible conflict. To look deeper, however, reveals a film whose power is not in what is on its water-color hued surface, but in the ideas and themes it suggests by offering a heartbreaking portrait of beings whose humanity is at odds with their purpose.
This film has been on my radar for awhile. I think I'm a little worried I'll find it boring so that's why I haven't gotten around to it yet.
It is, shall we say, very deliberately paced. It's one of those films where it's more about the world and ideas surrounding the film, as opposed to the film itself. It's worth it if you can muster the patience for it.
That's what I hear. As long as it's interesting I should be fine.
I you hate it, forget we ever had this conversation. If you love it, remember my recommendation!
