Terrible poster but a wonderful film. Watching this again on the big screen was a great experience. I'm sure I have previously only seen much darker prints with less than perfect sound, but here the b/w photography stuns and the unpredictable soundtrack is most disturbing. A fairly simple story, simply told but so atmospheric, the reeds, the water, the battling soldiers, the demonic mask and centrally the tale of sex, death and hunger and the lengths we will go to achieve these basic needs.
