Matt "Cinebro" Conti’s review:
Ted is an alright movie. The man child/ Teddy Bear relationship is adorable enough to get by some of the more silly jokes. There's not much of a plot here, so the film is basically a vehicle for jokes. The jokes are pretty hit and miss, but when they hit, they're gut burstingly funny.
My biggest problem with the film is how plain it feels. Despite all the funny jokes and all the cameos, and even the film's central gimmick, the film is just kind of... there. It's almost lazily made, but I can't really say it's *that* lazily made, because after all, the CG here is pretty incredible, and it's amazing how even though Ted really isn't there, the entire cast manages to interact with him like he really was, which has been a problem for me with other films that have CG characters interacting with each other.
But I digress. This film is funny. You will enjoy yourself for the full 106 minute running time. But I can't help but feel I'm going to forget about this film very soon.
