James Bond Ranked
I'm a massive James Bond fan, and I can't wait for Skyfall to come out, which looks great. In honor of the 50th Anniversary of Bond, I decided to make my own ranking of the films. I should note that I love them all, even those at the bottom, but it's all due to a man named Bond.

Nice list. I have also ranked the 007 movies and there are some similarities (and differences) in our lists. letterboxd.com/pendo86/list/shaken-and-stirred/
Please explain why "Live and Let Die" is ranked so highly :)
Bond and Blaxploitation mix surprisingly well in my opinion. It also features Roger Moore fresh in the role, and clearly eager for it. Although now that I consider it, I'd say The Spy Who Loved Me is the better Roger Moore Bond film.
Agreed about Spy Who Loved Me. Re: LILD, I just remember hating JW Pepper with a fiery passion, and having the villain turn into a balloon (and pop) is almost unforgivable. Moore isn't bad for what he has to work with, though.
Nice to see LICENCE TO KILL in the top half of your list. I was looking to make a Bond ranked list as I re-watch all the Bond film this year, in anticipation of SKYFALL. Not sure I could stand to watch QUANTUM OF SOLACE again. Or A VIEW TO A KILL.
I absolutely love the Dalton films, and wish he could have stuck around.
I'm absolutely eager for Skyfall. Everything I've heard about it sounds great.
I've really warmed to QoS. It may not be anywhere close to how great I found Casino Royale to be, but on a recent rewatch, I found that despite the flaws (and there are many) it still managed to be somewhat entertaining. There's also a nice handful of really good scenes, like the Opera sequence and the last scene.
View to a Kill is definitely one of the weakest Bond films (despite having such a strong theme song), but like every film on this list, I would gladly watch ANY of these films over and over again. I'm that much of a die hard fan.
Good to see "On Her Majesty Secret Service" in your top five. That one is my favorite overall.
These lists make it so hard to not want the complete Bond blu-ray set that's being released in the fall.
Nice to see Goldfinger as the best. To me, it's the quintessential Bond film. It has the car, the gadgets, the villain, the great locations, etc.
Cinebro:I have been long tempted to make this list of Bond films. Everytime I try to start; I disagree with myself. :-)
I agree with your list a little more than my last attempt.
I find it is hard to rank a large group of "similar" films, when you enjoy them all so much for different reasons.
I agree with Snorfle re: "live and Let Die". It's ranked a little high for me to.
This list would be pretty close to mine....so now I don't have to do one.
Travis: I am also interested in that blu-ray set. I will start the hints to my family..for Christmas.
Glad you liked the list. I agree, this list was hard for me to make, because I like even the films I'd consider the worst of the franchise.
On that note, I can't wait for Skyfall.
