This Means War 2012 ★★½

I was surprised by the fact that I liked this at all.

It certainly falls into the category of a standard rom-com. The plot isn't believable and they didn't try to make it even kind of plausible that the two main characters are legitimate professional "spies." That entire part of the story was completely phony in an obnoxious way.

For me there were quite a few moments of genuine laughter. I think Pine and Hardy (and the dynamic they share) really made the film. They are great together both as friend and foe. For me, Witherspoon really could have been anyone. She wasn't particularly charming or special. Chelsea Handler, however, was absolutely brilliant in her role and offers quite a bit of comedic relief at dull moments.

I will say I was pretty disappointed by the climax of the film and I didn't like the conclusion of the storyline at all.

It's worth watching once if you're in the mood for something light.
