Shots Fired 2018
Your Movie Muse Says...
"Shots Fired" is a beautifully executed, unique and thought-provoking film regarding our past, present and future.
Mitch Yapko's nihilistic approach to destiny and fate was extraordinary. Yapko's editing style and dialogue are traditional yet modern. He allows the viewer to think about the subject matter. He doesn't underestimate the viewer, but let's you draw your own conclusions about the future threat that will lead to "humanity's downfall".

Criminal 2016
Your Movie Muse Says...
"Criminal" had all the makings of a fantastic film. The concept was solid (in my opinion) and along with the cast of veteran actors, I figured this was sure to be entertaining. Boy was I wrong! A Prophet 2009
Your Movie Muse Says:
I watch this film about once a month, on average. In my opinion, one of the best mafioso films ever... The themes introduced by writer/director Jacques Audiard, go far beyond the average mobster movie. The gradual progression of the plot combined with the magnetic performance of Tahar Rahim and simplistic filmmaking, easily propelled this film into my top 5 ("The Godfather", "Goodfellas", "Eastern Promises" & "A Bronx Tale"). Though it's a French film with subtitles... you don't feel lost... the director did an excellent job ensuring the dialogue and visuals operated harmoniously throughout.

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest 1975

Wow! Beyond blown away. Now I see what all the fuss was about. Brilliant. Insightful. Deep. Core-shaking. I went through a range of emotions but the strongest emotion I experienced was... anger. This film easily inserted itself into my top 20 all-time faves. I never understood its impact on the American zeitgeist until now. Phenomenal.
