The movie's opening is a fantastic build up of annoyance and frustration, just in case you hadn't already caught up with the lead character's anger at humanity.
The second half satisfies that deep, dark fantasy of cheerfully removing all the world's problems at gunpoint, in a world with zero consequences.
No real lesson here. Just nice to know it's not just you who's disillusioned.
Awesome movie. Seriously. Even without the small sci-fi/ fantasy influence. The way everybody in his present was a fucking arsehole. How everybody in the past spoke exactly like their writing (I would go gay for Hemingway). Every time a new celebrity appeared I was on the edge of my seat.
It's a literature junky's dream and I'm completely obsessed with it.
