Colin the dude’s review:
This just gets better the more I see it. The time period really becomes a clearer definer in rewatching, as does the soundtrack. Of course Hardy IS the movie. Will he ever give a bad performance?
Hardy is brilliant in this, and I laugh my ass off every time I see it.
Hardy is yet to falter for me, though I haven't seen This Means War.
Good point Lee. I'll forget that movie exists.
@Colin From what I've heard, that's probably for the best.
havent seen This Means War but hes probably the best thing in it
I've been unfortunate enough to see This Means War. Shit film, but Hardy at a decent enough standard. The worst I've seen him, but by no means poor.
Love Bronson, love it so much. Have yall seen that comparison of Hardy's screen test for the Star Trek movie vs. the actual scene? It's pretty neat. He's so great *fangirl out*
"Quicker! Quicker! Quicker! Quicker! Quicker! Quicker! Fuck off! Sit Down! In the corner you cunt!"
@Julie- he's just magnetic in that. Haven't seen the movie but he's bloody brilliant there.
Wow Julie, that video is a gem. I think I prefer the screen test! Mesmerising.
That is just incredible. Which Star Trek film is it? I've not seen any, aside for Abrams remake. It is so funny how, in hindsight, actors like Hardy and their past performances do build up to what they're best known for. Can see Bronson and Bane so much in that brief clip.
Star Trek Nemesis. It's REALLY bad.
@Cinebro, typical.
If you get the opportunity check out Hardy's performance in The Take, a TV series based on a Martina Cole book. A very good adaption.
I would watch him in anything. I'd even queue up This Means War if someone were to really praise him in it.
@ Julie - Great link, interesting to see some of the nuances lost in the final scenes.
Cool! Glad you guys liked it. And yea, he's pretty great in The Take. Totally mental, I think it's said =)
