For the majority of this film I was in love with it. The dialogue and performances are so severely offbeat, and not in a usual twee way, but more like a glimpse at the Coen Brothers doing Clueless way, that I couldn't stop grinning ear to ear. Gerwig and crew, including Tipton and her odd facial scar, are all fantastic caricatures.

The only problem is that there is no real message or narrative thrust to keep this going, and as I started sensing that it should be winding down, every new chapter title card became a bit less welcome. This is something that would maybe not be an issue on rewatch, but on this occasion a 90 minute film felt like 2 hours and change.
